Introducing Yunha Bae: Greystone Winery’s Wine Ambassador in South Korea

We’re pleased to welcome Yunha Bae as Greystone’s Wine Ambassador in South Korea.
Based in Waipara Valley, North Canterbury, Greystone is built on certified organic and regenerative farming, with a focus on wines that express place, purity, and balance. Appointing a Wine Ambassador in Korea reflects our long-term commitment to the market and our belief in working with people who share our values and approach.
Ms. Bae is the General Manager & Head Sommelier of Casa del Vino Cheongdam, one of Korea’s most iconic wine restaurants and bars. Widely recognised as a leading voice in the Korean wine industry, she is actively engaged as a wine judge, educator, and mentor to the next generation of sommeliers.
She currently serves as a judge for the Korea Wine Challenge, Korea Wine Awards, Maeil Business Newspaper Restaurant Wine Awards, and the Korea Liquor Awards (Imported Wine Category). Her professional background spans over 15 years across fine dining, hospitality operations, wine education, and international certification programs.
Ms. Bae holds a Master’s degree in Wine & Sommelier Studies from Kyung Hee University, an A.S.I. Sommelier Diploma, and multiple advanced certifications including Tea, Water, and Advanced Sommelier qualifications from the Korea International Sommelier Association (KISA). She has also completed professional beverage management training through the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) and wine studies at L’École du Vin in Bordeaux, France.
Beyond restaurant leadership, she is an active lecturer for academic institutions and corporate organisations, including Seoul National University MBA Program, Yonsei University, Dankook University CEO Program, and major Korean corporations such as Samsung C&T, SK Group, and Shinhan Financial Investment.
Founded in 2002, Casa del Vino Cheongdam has been a cornerstone of Korea’s wine culture for over 23 years. Home to a curated list of more than 750 wines, the venue is celebrated for its fair pricing, depth of selection, and warm, approachable sommelier service. It is notably the only wine bar ever selected for “100 Taste of Seoul”, has held a Wine Spectator 2-Glass Award continuously since 2015, and has received two Blue Ribbons every year since 2012 from Korea’s most respected dining guide, Blue Ribbon Survey.
Often described as a “Sommelier Academy,” Casa del Vino is a place of constant learning and evolution— Lively, yet never frivolous. Serious, yet never heavy.
As Greystone’s Wine Ambassador, Yunha will work closely with our team across trade education, on-premise partnerships, and storytelling, helping share Greystone’s wines, vineyard philosophy, and Waipara origins with the Korean market.
We’re super excited to be working with Yoonha and to continue growing Greystone’s presence in South Korea, and to welcome her to the Greystone family. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see how warmly the market has embraced our wines, and we’ve loved working alongside our partner Wami. We’re really looking forward to welcoming Yoonha to Greystone later this year, so she can experience first-hand the vineyard, the people, and the special place we’re fortunate to call home.
