"Dark, deep ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, a little lighter on edge. This has a rich and concentrated nose of ripe, dark raspberry and red plum aromas entwined with a fine layer of spice, and lifted by dark-red and violet florals, along with aromatic oak elements. Medium-full bodied, rich, lively and vibrant fruit flavours of dark raspberries and red plums show with primary vibrancy. The fruit is detailed by dark herb and spice elements, and subtle violet floral notes. Fine grained tannin extraction supports the fruit with balancing grip and structure, and the mouthfeel is enlivened by fresh acidity, providing tension and energy. The wine carries to a long, lingering, fine-textured, dry finish with raspberry, plum and spice nuances. This is a rich, sweet, raspberry and plum fruited Pinot Noir with fine-grained tannin and grip, and fresh acid poise, and a dry finish. Match with pork, beef, lamb and venison over the next 6+ years. Hand-picked fruit, indigenous yeast fermented with low levels of whole bunches to 14.0% alc., the wine spending 5 weeks on skins and aged 11 months in 30% new French oak. 2,792 cases made.

Moderately intense pinot noir with dark-fleshed plum, black cherry, liquorice and smoky bacon flavours. Quite a soft and accessible wine, with a structure of gentle tannins. A mellow pinot that's a little oak dominant at this early stage but that should integrate with a little bottle age.
